Pharmacy Reporting Requirement Changes for Kansas PDMP

Implementation Date: November 1, 2023

Effective November 1, 2023, the Kansas Board of Pharmacy will begin enforcement of new standards and regulations for pharmacies reporting prescriptions to the prescription drug monitoring program (K-TRACS). The changes include:

Reporting of prescriptions based on sold date instead of dispense date
Moving from 7-day zero reports to 1-day zero reports
Adoption of ASAP 4.2B standards
Collection of three additional data elements (species code, sold date and prescriber license number if no DEA/NPI is present)

Changes can be made at any time but must be in place by the deadline of November 1.
