Dear Arkansas Pharmacies/Pharmacists, On December 29, 2022 with the signing of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, Congress eliminated the “DATA-Waiver Program”. With the elimination of the xDEA, the Arkansas Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (AR PDMP) will be phasing out the acceptance of a prescriber’s xDEA through the Clearinghouse. Arkansas Pharmacies/Pharmacists will need to report the prescriber’s current issued DEA number and not the xDEA utilized for substance use disorder treatment beginning 04/17/2023. If an xDEA is reported on or after 04/17/2023, the dispensation will result in an error that will need to be corrected for submission into the Clearinghouse. For questions please reach out to the AR PDMP at 501-683-3960. Sincerely, Arkansas Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Arkansas Department of Health
